I am Sasha Sholpan, a ceramic artist, born and working in Moscow.

For me, art is a field for experimentation, a way to explore the world around me and my place in it. My artistic practice focuses on studying the inner world of a person through the lens of personal experience. I am fascinated by the process of personality formation, its metamorphoses and the search for one's own path. Clay becomes the perfect medium for these explorations — it preserves traces of every interaction, just as the soul retains imprints of what has been experienced.

I also explore themes of vulnerability and strength. Ceramics, as a material, combines fragility and durability — this reflects human nature: we can be strong and confident, but at the same time vulnerable and subject to change. Through my works I want to show that beauty is born from imperfection, and vulnerability can become a source of strength. Every crack in ceramics, every flaw transforms into a unique feature that makes the work special — just as human imperfections make us irreplaceable.
